The Tufeia Foundation is a local non-governmental organization that was organized and accredited in 2004. Tufeia has since the been involved with youth Empowerment through, training seminars/workshops, basic skills training, health awareness for adolescence, child participation and protection After school program for school going children, computer literacy training programs and the provision of scholarship to limited number of school going children. It has been a difficult task matching the many pressing needs to the available limited resources. Thus, Tufeia has operated, over the years, under very strenuous circumstances.

The Tufeia Foundation is also a Child Development foundation that works with peace building, protection of children, women and the elderly, and is deeply involved with youth development. The Tufeia Foundation is the premiere youth development organization in Liberia. Although the Tufeia Foundation has a presence in Monrovia, most of the operations are centered in Nimba County, where Ganta and Tappita are located. This year, Rev. Dormah wishes to expand operation sinto Bong and Grand Gedeh Counties as well.

ESI has been working with Tufeia in order to increase its organizational capacity and expand its educational, youth, and sustainable development consulting services. ESI is providing organizational training in staff management, administration, as well as the ability to host trans-nationals touring or visiting Liberia. Working with partners around the world, ESI will select 100 individuals from Liberia and Ghana to apprentice in the US and Europe to gain experience in project management and sustainable management and technologies.

These “Trainers” will then manage ESIs various projects in Africa and teach others the necessary skills they have learned in a classic “Train the Trainer” strategy. The individuals will receive credentials in sustainable management and technologies, Environmental Management Systems, ISO standards, Green Building Best Practices, Water Management, Pollution Control and Prevention, Green Agriculture, Green Chemistry, Alternative Energy Systems, among others.
